COCO POPS® be a Game Ranger Competition


The Kellogg’s® Coco Pops® “Be a Game Ranger” competition ran from the 13 October 2008 to 20 December 2008. Once a week for ten weeks, a child and one parent was drawn to win a weekend at the Makalali Private Game Reserve in early 2009. Children will enjoy a mini Game Ranger course, wildlife viewing, lessons in conservation, tracking spoor and survival skills; as well as game drives with a qualified Game Ranger and experience outdoor cooking by a fire at night.

Kellogg’s® Coco Pops’® brand manager, Leanne Martin, is wild about South Africa’s wildlife: “We want to show children that they can be heroes and help save our threatened animal species and environment. Teaching them how to be Game Rangers is a fun way to raise their awareness about conservation and transfer useful skills about preserving our planet.” The competition also raised money for the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) ®. Kellogg’s® Coco Pops® will donate R40 000 to the WWF “Be the Hero” campaign; and a further 50c from each SMS entry to the competition will also be donated to the campaign.
